About Blueline
A plumber you'd recommend to your mum.
Started in 2009 by master plumber Dawie Botha with one bakkie and a mobile number. Still family-run, still answering that same number.
Our story
Built on the jobs the last guy botched.
Dawie started Blueline after one too many customers told him the same thing: the previous plumber didn't pitch, didn't call, and left a mess behind.
So the whole business was built around the boring stuff that actually matters, turning up when we say we will, quoting before we start, and leaving your home cleaner than we found it. Word got around, one bakkie became a fleet, and the mobile number became a proper 24/7 line.
We're still family-run. Every plumber on the team is either PIRB-registered or an apprentice working towards it under someone who is. Nobody learns on your job at your expense and every repair is backed in writing.
Fifteen-odd years later we look after thousands of Cape Town homes, landlords and businesses. Most of them found us the same way: a neighbour said "just call Blueline."
Across the city
One call from the Atlantic Seaboard to the Northern Suburbs.
Our vans cover greater Cape Town seven days a week, fully stocked so most jobs are finished in a single visit, without a return trip for parts.
What we stand for
Four rules we don't bend.
Quote before we start
You'll always know the price before any work begins. If the job changes, we stop and re-quote. You're never surprised by the invoice.
Repair before replace
If a repair is safe and sensible, we'll quote that first. We're not here to sell you a new geyser you don't need.
Leave it spotless
Drop sheets down, boots off or covered, and the site cleaned before we leave. Good plumbing shouldn't cost you a clean-up.
Guarantee it in writing
Every job comes with a written 12-month workmanship guarantee. If something we touched fails, we come back and sort it, no argument.
Milestones
How we got here.
One bakkie, one number
Dawie starts Blueline solo, doing repairs and geyser call-outs across the Northern Suburbs.
First apprentices
Demand outgrows one pair of hands. We take on two apprentices and buy the second van.
24/7 emergency line
After one too many midnight burst-pipe calls, we go fully round-the-clock for emergencies.
Drain & CCTV division
We add high-pressure jetting and camera inspection rigs, so blocked drains get diagnosed, not just poked.
14 strong, still family
A team of fourteen covering greater Cape Town, same name on the vans, same number on the phone.
